Health checks for adults include checking the height, weight, hemoglobin, blood counts, urine analysis, physical examination, renal and liver profiles, lipid profile, ECG and X-ray of chest
Heart health is checked by monitoring the blood pressure, lipid profile, resting ECG
Diabetic check: Blood Sugar testing should be done at the age of 45 and every three years after the first test. Blood sugar level should be checked when the patient is fasting and two hours after a meal. Based on these results, the doctor may further advise a Glucose Tolerance Test or a Glycosylated hemoglobin level test.
Dental checkups once every six months are recommended.
Eye tests : Annual checkup is recommended for persons wearing contact lenses and eye glasses. Persons older than 40 years, should have an eye checkup at least once in four years.
Hearing test: An audiogram once in 10 years, is advisable for adults. |
